In the mid to late 1700's, William Clark, and his sons purchased patents for land that had been chartered to William Penn in what is now West St. Clair Township, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. In this compendium of family history, detailed information is compiled and transcribed from available sources including land records, probate records, taxes, censuses and newspaper articles for his family and descendants. The study has over 6,000 individuals in the full index. Between 1830 and 1860 many descendants joined the migration to the mid-west attracted by land where they built farms, often from wilderness and prairies. By the early 1900's family members are found on the west coast. Descendant family include Clark, McCoy, Way, Horn, Kurtz, Hinton, Ickes, McDonald, Hull, Snell, Vincent, Patton, and Horton as well as other allied family names.
