Civil War Exemptions Index
Bedford County, Pennsylvania
These records are requests for exemptions or lists of soldiers who received exemptions from service in the Civil War. Some, such as Volume 2, Page 23, are a list of soldiers who received exemptions. However, many are the letters sent to request the exemption and include reasons for requesting the exemption.
You may purchase a copy of the Civil War Exemption papers of an individual by sending $5.00 and a SASE along with the name of the person, volume number and page number to the address above.
