Everett Sesquicentennial Celebration - May 7 & 8, 2010 and throughout the year
On May 7 & 8, 2010, Everett began celebrating 150 years as a Borough. Events included an
historical display at the Masonic Temple and a book sale at the Everett Free Library both days.
A Canoe Classic was held on May 8.
Celebrations will continue throughout the year, with a Turn Your Broom Upside Down Scarecrow
Contest planned for students in grades K-6 and grades 7-12. The theme for the scarecrows and
Halloween Parade is "Celebrating our Past: the 1860s". The winners of the contest will
carry their scarecrows in the Everett Halloween Parade on October 27. For contest rules and

A Founder's Day Ball is being planned for November in conjunction with the Lions Club.
