Everett Sesquicentennial Celebration - May 7 & 8, 2010 and throughout the year

On May 7 & 8, 2010, Everett began celebrating 150 years as a Borough. Events included an historical display at the Masonic Temple and a book sale at the Everett Free Library both days. A Canoe Classic was held on May 8.

Celebrations will continue throughout the year, with a Turn Your Broom Upside Down Scarecrow Contest planned for students in grades K-6 and grades 7-12. The theme for the scarecrows and Halloween Parade is "Celebrating our Past: the 1860s". The winners of the contest will carry their scarecrows in the Everett Halloween Parade on October 27. For contest rules and registration information, contact the Everett Free Library at (814)652-5922.

A Founder's Day Ball is being planned for November in conjunction with the Lions Club.
